Arizona Snow
March 12th, 2006
This was the view from the flightline at Falcon Field looking east. The superstition mountains are dusted in white. Winds were 10 gusting to 21 when Tom and Katie Velvick took off in their RV-4, luckily the winds were almost straight down the runway.

Snow everywhere

More superstition snow.

Weavers Needle is just off the front of our wing.

A closer shot of Weavers Needle and the Superstitions.

The tops of Four Peaks was still obscured in clouds.

Looking North up the Verde River.

It was getting a lot more turbulent up close to the mountains so we stayed on the upwind side and made a big loop back to Deer Valley Airport.

After we had got back home, we saw a message on the Yahoo Group AZ RV list from Sheldon Barrett AZ_RVList Message Re [AZ_RVList] Snow in Arizona in St. Johns saying that he had got nearly two feet of snow at his place!
